Toyota Vellfire price in Bangladesh is currently around ৳35 lakh to ৳95 lakh for used 2008–2015 models. Older 2008–2010 cars with higher mileage generally sit toward the lower end, while later facelift models, Z G Edition, Golden Eyes and well-maintained premium examples can command significantly more.
This generation is H20 of Toyota Vellfire, available from 2008 - 2015.
The common 2.4L Vellfire produces 170 PS and 224 Nm, using a CVT automatic transmission. Real-world 0–100 km/h acceleration is approximately 11–12.5 seconds, depending on vehicle weight, drivetrain, tyres and passenger load. The 2.4L uses ventilated disc brakes at the front and disc brakes at the rear, with ABS, Brake Assist and EBD. The larger 3.5L V6 produces 280 PS and 344 Nm in early models and is noticeably quicker.
For the common 2.4L petrol Vellfire, realistic Bangladesh mileage is approximately 6–8 km/L in city traffic, 10–12 km/L on highways and 7–9 km/L combined. Dhaka congestion, frequent AC use, passenger load and older vehicle condition can reduce city mileage further. Toyota's original Japanese test figures were much higher under controlled conditions; the early 2.4L was rated around 11.4–11.6 km/L under Japan's 10/15 test cycle. For everyday Bangladesh driving, the lower real-world figures are more useful.
The first-generation range included 2.4 X, 2.4 V, 2.4 Z, Z G Edition, Z Platinum Selection, Golden Eyes and other special editions, along with 3.5L V6 and later hybrid versions. The 2.4 X is more practical and usually simpler, while 2.4 Z and Z G Edition provide sportier styling and substantially more equipment. Golden Eyes versions add distinctive exterior and interior equipment. If fuel economy matters most, the later hybrid versions are worth considering; if performance is the priority, the 3.5L V6 is the stronger option.
Yes, but you need to understand its limitations. The Vellfire is excellent on Dhaka's paved roads and major highways, where its soft suspension, long wheelbase and spacious cabin provide excellent comfort. Its approximately 160mm ground clearance means large speed breakers and deep potholes need to be approached carefully. The long 2,950mm wheelbase also increases the risk of scraping on steep ramps and badly broken roads. It is much happier on paved urban and highway routes than on severely damaged rural roads.
Vellfire is comfortable in Dhaka traffic, but its large body is the biggest challenge. At around 4.85–4.87 metres long and 1.83–1.84 metres wide depending on version, it needs considerably more road and parking space than a sedan. The high driving position provides good visibility, while rear cameras and parking sensors on equipped grades make manoeuvring easier. The 2.4L engine is adequate for normal city driving, although heavy traffic and constant AC operation can push fuel economy down toward 6 km/L or below.
For a reasonably maintained 2.4L petrol Vellfire, a practical routine maintenance budget is around ৳30,000–60,000 per year, excluding fuel, insurance and major repairs. Older examples can require substantially more when suspension components, brakes, tyres, power sliding doors, electric seats, AC components or electronic equipment need attention. The good news is that Toyota parts are relatively easy to find in Bangladesh, and many mechanical components are shared with the Alphard and other Toyota models. A separate repair reserve is sensible for a 10–15-year-old luxury MPV.
Check the chassis history, auction sheet, mileage, accident history and previous repairs first. Then inspect the engine, CVT or automatic transmission, suspension, brakes, tyres, AC and underbody. Test both power sliding doors, power tailgate where equipped, electric seats, sunroof, curtains, rear entertainment system, cameras, sensors and infotainment. Look carefully for water damage and electrical faults because the Vellfire contains a large amount of electronic equipment. A professional diagnostic scan and thorough test drive are strongly recommended.
The main disadvantages are high fuel consumption, low ground clearance, large dimensions and aging technology. The 2.4L engine is smooth but not particularly powerful for such a large MPV, especially with seven passengers and luggage. Older examples can also develop expensive problems with power doors, suspension, air-conditioning, electrical equipment and interior mechanisms. Modern ADAS features such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance are generally unavailable because this generation predates Toyota Safety Sense.
