The Sequoia SR5 Hybrid produces 437 hp and 790 Nm from its 3.4L twin-turbo V6 i-FORCE MAX system. It can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in approximately 5.8–6.0 seconds, depending on drivetrain and testing conditions. The SUV uses four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, Brake Assist and electronic brake-force management. Toyota does not publish a standard official 100–0 km/h braking-distance figure for Bangladesh, so a precise braking distance should not be assumed.

In typical Bangladesh conditions, you can expect approximately 5–7 km/L in city traffic, 8–10 km/L on highways and around 6–8 km/L combined. Heavy Dhaka traffic, frequent air-conditioning use, passenger load and aggressive acceleration can reduce fuel economy further.

The SR5 RWD sends power to the rear wheels and is lighter and more fuel-efficient. The SR5 4WD uses Toyota's part-time 4WD system with a two-speed transfer case, providing additional traction on difficult surfaces. Toyota rates the RWD SR5 at 21/24/22 mpg city/highway/combined, while the 4WD version is rated at 19/22/20 mpg. For normal Dhaka and highway use, RWD is sufficient; 4WD becomes more useful if you regularly travel on rough, slippery or off-road surfaces.

Yes, mechanically it is highly capable on Bangladesh roads. The 218mm ground clearance, strong hybrid powertrain, independent suspension and available 4WD make it comfortable over uneven roads and long highway journeys. The main challenge is its size. At 5286mm long and around 2022mm wide, the Sequoia can be difficult on narrow Dhaka roads, crowded markets, small parking areas and tight apartment basements.

The Sequoia is comfortable in city traffic, but its physical size makes it demanding in congested areas. The high seating position, Panoramic View Monitor, parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring help significantly. The hybrid system also provides strong low-speed response. However, Dhaka traffic can still produce around 5–7 km/L, and finding a sufficiently large parking space can be more difficult than with a Fortuner, Prado or smaller SUV.

The Sequoia is substantially more expensive to maintain than common Toyota models. A routine oil-and-filter service can commonly cost around ৳15,000–30,000 or more, depending on oil, filters and workshop. A sensible annual maintenance reserve is around ৳50,000–1 lakh or more, excluding tyres, major suspension work, brake replacement and unexpected repairs. Imported parts can also cost significantly more than parts for locally common Toyota models.

Check the VIN, manufacturing date, exact SR5 specification, RWD or 4WD drivetrain, warranty, import documents and final registration costs. Inspect the body for shipping damage, scratches, dents and panel gaps. Test the twin-turbo engine, 10-speed transmission, hybrid operation, air-conditioning, heated seats, touchscreen, cameras, parking sensors, moonroof, power windows and all safety systems. For an imported Bangladesh unit, also verify which connected services actually operate locally because some Toyota connected functions depend on the original market and cellular service.

The biggest disadvantages are its large dimensions, high purchase price, significant fuel consumption and relatively basic SR5 interior compared with the higher Sequoia grades. Although the hybrid system improves efficiency, this remains a large 437-hp SUV. Parking in crowded Dhaka areas can be difficult, while replacement tyres, brakes and imported parts can also be expensive.

The Sequoia SR5 Hybrid is designed for you if you want a very large eight-seat SUV with exceptional power, modern safety technology, strong towing capability and excellent long-distance comfort. The SR5 provides the fundamental Sequoia experience without moving into the much higher price of the luxury grades. However, you need suitable parking space and should be comfortable with higher fuel and maintenance costs. The RWD version is more economical, while 4WD provides additional capability for rougher roads.
