Toyota Noah (2007-2014) Specifications

The late 2.0-litre 3ZR-FAE produces 158 hp and 196 Nm, while the regular 3ZR-FE produces approximately 143 hp and 194 Nm. A realistic 0–100 km/h time for the 158 hp version is around 10.5 seconds. Factory braking uses ventilated front discs and rear discs on the Si specification, while some lower grades use rear drums.

A realistic Bangladesh expectation is approximately 7–10 km/L in city driving, 11–14 km/L on highways and 9–12 km/L combined. Heavy Dhaka traffic, frequent AC use, passengers and poor CVT/engine maintenance can reduce city mileage further. Toyota's Japanese test figures were significantly higher, with official R70 figures around 12.4–13.6 km/L under JC08 depending version.

The main grades include X, X L Selection, G, S and Si, with special editions appearing throughout production. X is practical for buyers prioritising value, G adds comfort and equipment, while Si is the sportier and more powerful-looking specification using the 158 PS 3ZR-FAE. Toyota confirms the grade structure and the distinction between regular and sporty versions.

Yes, particularly for families driving primarily on paved city roads and highways. The compact width, high seating position and good visibility work well in Dhaka. However, its approximately 155–160mm ground clearance is not ideal for deep potholes, broken village roads or badly designed speed breakers. A healthy suspension and correctly sized tyres make a noticeable difference.

Yes, and this is one of its strongest use cases. The upright seating position gives good visibility, the body remains relatively narrow for an eight-seat MPV and the CVT keeps acceleration smooth in stop-and-go traffic. In heavy Dhaka congestion, however, expect closer to 7–9 km/L rather than the official Japanese test-cycle numbers.

Routine servicing is generally manageable because Toyota parts and experienced mechanics are widely available. For a healthy R70, budgeting around Tk 20,000–35,000 per year for routine maintenance, excluding fuel, tyres, battery and major repairs, is reasonable. A sensible older-car reserve is Tk 40,000–70,000+ annually, particularly if the CVT, suspension, AC or electrical systems need work.

Check the engine, CVT transmission, suspension, steering, AC, power sliding doors, electrical systems, ABS/VSC warning lights and body structure. On the 3ZR-FAE, inspect for oil leaks, abnormal noises and poor maintenance. During the test drive, make sure the CVT accelerates smoothly without hesitation or abnormal noise. Also verify the chassis number, model year, registration history and accident repairs.

The main disadvantages are low ground clearance, aging safety technology, relatively high city fuel consumption and CVT repair risk on neglected cars. Fully loaded acceleration is also only moderate. The car's age means suspension bushings, sliding-door mechanisms, AC components and electrical equipment can require attention even when the engine itself remains healthy.

It can be a very practical used-MPV choice if you need seven or eight seats, good cabin space and Toyota parts availability. The strongest reason to buy one is its combination of passenger capacity, comfort and manageable dimensions. But compare the actual condition rather than simply the model year. A well-maintained 2010–2012 Noah can be more sensible than a neglected newer-looking car with CVT, AC or chassis problems.
