Toyota Innova News & Updates

The 2.0-litre hybrid system produces around 184 PS combined output, with 188 Nm from the petrol engine and 206 Nm from the electric motor. Independent testing recorded 0–100 km/h in 10.69 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h. The HyCross uses four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, EBD and Brake Assist, with independent testing recording approximately 40.3 metres for 100–0 km/h braking.

A realistic Bangladesh expectation for the hybrid is around 13–17 km/L in city traffic, 16–19 km/L on highways and approximately 15–18 km/L combined. Heavy Dhaka congestion, continuous AC use, passenger load and driving style can reduce mileage. Real-world tests have recorded 13.1 km/L in city driving and 16.1–18.2 km/L on highway runs.

The hybrid range generally moves from VX to VX(O), ZX and ZX(O), depending on market and model year. VX provides the core hybrid experience with strong comfort and efficiency, while VX(O) adds more equipment. ZX and ZX(O) offer the most premium cabin and advanced safety technology. Buyers should compare the exact imported specification because equipment varies by market and year.

Yes, particularly for Dhaka city roads, highways and family travel. Its 185mm ground clearance is adequate for ordinary Bangladeshi speed breakers and rough patches, while the long wheelbase gives it good stability and cabin comfort. However, it is a large FWD MPV rather than an off-road vehicle, so deep potholes, badly broken roads and high unmarked speed breakers still require care.

The hybrid version is particularly well suited to congested city driving because the electric motor can handle much of the low-speed work. The e-CVT is smooth and there are no conventional gear changes. It is physically large for Dhaka, however, so narrow roads and tight parking spaces require more attention than a sedan.

Routine maintenance should be manageable because Toyota service knowledge and parts availability are relatively strong in Bangladesh. However, hybrid-specific diagnostics and high-voltage-system servicing require properly equipped technicians. Routine servicing costs will generally be higher than a small Toyota sedan but should remain reasonable for a premium MPV. Hybrid battery condition and warranty support should be checked carefully on imported vehicles.

Check the VIN/chassis number, manufacturing date, exact grade, hybrid battery warranty, import documents and previous registration status. Inspect the hybrid battery system, engine, e-CVT, suspension, tyres, brakes and AC. Test every camera, parking sensor, touchscreen, electric seat, power tailgate, sunroof and ADAS function fitted to the vehicle. Also confirm that the imported car's specification matches the seller's advertised grade.

The main disadvantages are its high Bangladesh purchase price, large exterior dimensions, limited third-row access and relatively limited luggage flexibility when all seats are occupied. The naturally aspirated petrol engine can also become noticeably noisy under hard acceleration because of the e-CVT operating characteristics. Buyers moving from the diesel Innova Crysta may also miss the strong low-rev torque and traditional diesel feel.
