Toyota Hilux price in Bangladesh currently ranges around Tk 42–72 lakh, depending on engine, grade, model year, mileage, auction condition and equipment.
The lower end generally represents more basic or 2.4L configurations, while newer 2.8L, premium and Rocco/Adventure-style examples can move substantially higher.
The latest 2.8L Toyota Hilux produces 204 PS and 500 Nm, giving it substantially stronger performance than the older 2.4L 150 PS/400 Nm configuration.
The 2.8L 4WD uses a 6-speed automatic transmission and should take approximately 10.5–11.5 seconds from 0–100 km/h, depending on test conditions, tyres, fuel load and vehicle specification.
The current specification uses ventilated disc brakes at the front and disc brakes at the rear, supported by ABS, Brake Assist and EBD.
A universal Bangladesh-market braking-distance figure is not published, so an exact stopping distance should not be treated as an official Hilux specification.
For the 2.8L 4WD Hilux, a realistic Bangladesh mileage expectation is approximately 7–9 km/L in city driving, 11–13 km/L on highways and 9–11 km/L combined.
Dhaka traffic can push city consumption toward the lower end because of congestion, frequent acceleration, idling and continuous AC use.
Highway mileage improves considerably when the vehicle is driven at a steady speed with a moderate load.
For Bangladesh buyers, the 2.8L automatic 4WD is the strongest overall choice if budget allows.
The 2.4L diesel is better for buyers who want a lower purchase price and reasonable fuel economy, while the 2.8L is preferable for buyers who regularly carry passengers, travel long distances or want stronger acceleration.
Higher grades such as Z, Adventure or Rocco-style specifications offer better equipment, styling and comfort.
For serious off-road use, construction work or rural travel, 4WD is worth prioritising. For mostly paved city driving, a lower specification can make more financial sense.
Yes. In fact, Bangladesh is one of the markets where the Hilux's rugged engineering makes considerable sense.
The latest 2.8L model has approximately 215 mm ground clearance, a body-on-frame chassis, part-time 4WD and a rear leaf-spring suspension designed to tolerate heavy loads and poor surfaces.
It is comfortable on paved highways and capable on broken roads, village roads, construction sites and muddy surfaces.
The downside is its size. At more than 5.3 metres long, the Hilux is noticeably less convenient in narrow Dhaka streets and crowded parking areas.
For Bangladesh's mixed road conditions, however, its high clearance and rugged chassis are genuine advantages.
The Hilux can handle city driving very well, but it is not particularly small or nimble.
The high driving position gives excellent visibility, while the automatic transmission makes Dhaka traffic much easier than a manual pickup.
The problem is physical size. At 5,325 mm long and 1,885 mm wide, it requires more care in tight parking areas, narrow roads and crowded markets.
Fuel consumption is also less impressive in stop-start traffic than on highways.
If you frequently travel outside Dhaka or need a pickup bed, the compromises are worthwhile. If you only need a comfortable city vehicle for commuting, a Corolla Cross, Harrier or similar SUV will be easier to park and generally more pleasant in dense urban traffic.
A reasonable routine maintenance budget for a well-maintained Hilux is around Tk 35,000–60,000 per year, excluding fuel, insurance, tax and major repairs.
A heavily used pickup should have a larger reserve because tyres, suspension components, brakes, battery and drivetrain components experience more stress than those on an ordinary sedan.
For an older or high-mileage reconditioned Hilux, keeping approximately Tk 60,000–120,000 annually as a repair reserve is sensible.
The 2.8L diesel's injectors, turbocharger, emissions equipment, suspension and 4WD components can become expensive when neglected.
The important point is that Toyota reliability does not make maintenance optional. A poorly maintained Hilux can still produce expensive repair bills.
Before buying a reconditioned Toyota Hilux in Bangladesh, inspect the Japanese auction sheet, chassis number, mileage, auction grade and accident history.
Then check the engine, turbocharger, injectors, transmission, differential, transfer case and 4WD system.
The chassis and underbody deserve special attention because Hilux vehicles can be exposed to heavy commercial or off-road use.
Also inspect the suspension, leaf springs, steering, brakes, tyres, AC, electrical equipment, cameras, infotainment and safety systems.
Look carefully for flood damage, chassis repairs, excessive underbody corrosion, repainting and signs of hard off-road use.
A professional pre-purchase inspection is strongly recommended.
Yes, if you actually need the abilities of a pickup.
The Hilux makes excellent sense for buyers who travel outside Dhaka, carry equipment, work in construction or agriculture, travel on rough roads or want genuine 4WD capability.
Its biggest advantages are durability, strong diesel torque, high ground clearance, excellent resale demand and widespread Toyota parts knowledge.
However, it is expensive and physically large. The rear seats are not as comfortable as those in a large SUV, and the suspension can feel firm when the cargo bed is empty.
If your use is 90% city commuting with no need for a pickup bed or 4WD, buying a Hilux simply because it is a Toyota is difficult to justify.
For the right owner, however, it is one of the most dependable pickup choices available in Bangladesh.
Yes, Hilux does have other variants. Check out the Hilux page at Toyota Hilux for all other available variants.
