Toyota Century Sedan Hybrid Specifications

Yes, if you want ultra-luxury, exclusivity and chauffeur-level comfort.

It is not a sensible choice for someone simply looking for a practical luxury SUV. A Lexus LX, LM or Land Cruiser would be much easier to justify in Bangladesh.

The Century's appeal is its craftsmanship and passenger-focused engineering.

The 3.5L 2GR-FXS produces 262 PS and 335 Nm, while the complete PHEV system produces 412 PS. It uses an E-CVT and E-Four Advanced AWD.

A roughly 6-second 0–100 km/h time is a reasonable performance estimate for this 2.57-tonne SUV.

With regular charging:

Heavy Dhaka traffic: 9–11 km/L
Normal city: 10–12 km/L
Highway: 13–16 km/L
Mixed hybrid driving: 12–14 km/L

Toyota's official WLTC figure is 14.2 km/L, including 10.6 km/L urban, 16.2 km/L suburban and 15.2 km/L highway.

The 69km EV range can make actual petrol consumption much lower for short daily journeys if the owner charges regularly.

This is the hybrid version.

The 2023 Century SUV does not have the conventional Toyota G/G Plus/X/Z trim structure.

Toyota essentially sells it as a highly specified flagship, with equipment and customisation options.

For the current Bangladesh lineup, yes, it is available in Brand New and Reconditioned models available from Japan or international markets.

Yes, the Toyota Century 3.5 Hybrid is suitable for normal Bangladesh roads, with its sedan body, FWD drivetrain and hybrid power suited to everyday road use.

Surprisingly good mechanically, but difficult physically.

The PHEV system is excellent in stop-and-go traffic, and the 185mm ground clearance is considerably more Bangladesh-friendly than the G60 sedan's clearance.

However, the SUV is 5,205mm long and 1,990mm wide, so narrow Dhaka roads and parking spaces remain challenging.

Check the PHEV battery, charging system, V6 engine, E-CVT, E-Four AWD system, suspension, brakes, rear seats, ventilation/massage functions, infotainment, cameras, radar sensors, power tailgate, tyres and accident history.

Also verify the Japanese auction sheet and mileage.

On such a rare vehicle, the condition of the electronic and hybrid systems matters far more than saving a few lakh on the purchase price.
