Exterior

Practical Seven-Seat MPV Design

The Toyota Avanza E is designed around a simple idea: carry seven people without becoming an enormous vehicle. Its 4395 mm length, 1730 mm width and 2750 mm wheelbase give it a useful balance between road presence and urban manoeuvrability. It looks considerably more modern than older Avanza generations, with a tall body, sharp headlights and a large front grille.

Good Ground Clearance for Bangladesh

The 180 mm ground clearance is one of the Avanza E's most useful exterior characteristics in Bangladesh. Dhaka has plenty of speed breakers that appear to have been designed by people who dislike suspension systems. The Avanza's ground clearance gives you considerably more confidence than a low sedan. The 4.9-metre turning radius also makes it manageable in narrow streets and crowded parking areas. The rear hatch provides practical access to the luggage area, while the three-row layout gives the vehicle its main purpose. It is not a glamorous design. It is a functional one. And that is actually appropriate. The Avanza looks modern enough for a new family vehicle while retaining the upright proportions necessary for seven-seat practicality. For Bangladesh, the exterior's greatest achievement is not styling. It is the combination of compact dimensions, useful ground clearance and a genuinely usable seven-seat body.

Interior

Seven Seats in a Compact Body

The Avanza E's interior is all about flexibility.

There are three rows of seats, giving you room for up to seven occupants. The second and third rows can be folded to change the balance between passenger and luggage space.

The second row provides reasonable adult space, while the third row is better suited to children or shorter adults during longer journeys.

Practical Family Cabin

The driving position is upright and provides a good view of surrounding traffic. That is useful in Dhaka, where seeing motorcycles, rickshaws and buses around you can be more important than having a beautifully sculpted dashboard.

The automatic air-conditioning and rear AC ventilation are particularly useful in Bangladesh's hot climate.

The cabin uses fabric upholstery and practical plastics rather than expensive materials. Everything is straightforward and easy to understand, but you will not mistake it for a luxury MPV.

Storage areas, cup holders and folding seats make it useful for everyday family life.

Luggage Flexibility

The Avanza's luggage space depends heavily on how many seats you are using. With all three rows occupied, cargo room is limited. Fold the rear seats and the available luggage area becomes substantially more useful.

That flexibility is the reason to choose an MPV over a conventional sedan.

The interior therefore succeeds not through luxury but through clever use of space.

Features

Useful Everyday Technology

The Avanza E provides the essentials for comfortable daily use.

You get power windows, power steering, automatic air-conditioning, rear AC ventilation, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, touchscreen entertainment and keyless convenience features, depending on the exact specification.

The infotainment system is straightforward rather than spectacular. That is perfectly acceptable in a family MPV.

Family-Focused Features

The three-row seating arrangement is the feature that matters most.

The second and third rows can be configured for passengers or luggage, making the Avanza useful for school runs, family trips, airport journeys and longer-distance travel.

Rear AC ventilation is particularly valuable when all seven seats are occupied.

What Is Missing

This is where the E grade shows its position in the range.

You do not get the sophisticated ADAS package found on higher-end Toyota models. There is no adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking or automated parking.

Wireless phone charging and premium connected services are also absent.

That may sound disappointing until you consider the price and purpose.

The Avanza E is fundamentally a practical family MPV, not a technology showcase.

It gives you the equipment you need to live with the car every day and leaves the expensive toys to more expensive models.

Safety

Core Safety Systems

The Avanza E provides the fundamental safety systems expected from a modern family vehicle.

ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, vehicle stability control, traction control and hill-start assistance help keep the vehicle stable and controllable.

The vehicle also provides front airbags, seatbelt warnings and ISOFIX child-seat mounting.

Bangladesh Road Conditions

The Avanza's 180 mm ground clearance is a safety-related practical advantage in Bangladesh.

A low vehicle can bottom out on large speed breakers or damaged roads, potentially affecting stability or damaging components. The Avanza gives you more clearance for these situations.

The elevated driving position also improves visibility in heavy traffic.

Where It Falls Short

The E grade does not provide the extensive ADAS technology found on more expensive Toyota models.

There is no adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance or blind-spot monitoring.

That does not make the vehicle inherently unsafe, but it means you should not expect the electronic safety net of a more expensive modern Toyota.

For a family vehicle, careful driving, properly maintained tyres and brakes, and correct use of all seven seatbelts remain essential.

Driving Experience

Smooth City Driving

The Avanza E's 105 hp and 138 Nm are sufficient for normal family driving, but the engine is not particularly powerful for a seven-seat vehicle. The CVT is the star of the drivetrain. It keeps the engine operating smoothly without conventional gear changes and makes crawling through Dhaka traffic relatively effortless. The electric power steering is light enough for parking and narrow roads while remaining predictable at normal speeds.

Driving in Dhaka

The upright seating position provides good visibility, while the 180 mm ground clearance gives you confidence over speed breakers and rough patches. The car is wider and longer than a small hatchback, so you need more space when parking. But the 4.9-metre turning radius keeps manoeuvring manageable. Fuel economy depends heavily on traffic. Around 10–12 km/L in heavy city conditions is a realistic expectation, while smoother traffic can produce better results.

Highway Performance

The Avanza E is comfortable at normal highway speeds. However, when seven people and luggage are aboard, the 1.5L engine has to work harder. Overtaking requires planning, particularly when climbing or accelerating from highway speeds. The approximately 12–13-second 0–100 km/h performance tells the story. This is not a fast MPV. It is a smooth, predictable and practical one. Drive it accordingly and the Avanza E makes a convincing family transport machine.

Variants

Understanding the E Grade

The Avanza E is positioned as an entry-oriented grade in markets where Toyota uses the E designation. It focuses on the core Avanza package: the 1.5L petrol engine, CVT, FWD layout, seven seats and practical equipment.

The equipment list can vary by market, so an E-grade Avanza imported from another country should not automatically be assumed to have exactly the same features as a Bangladesh-market vehicle.

Other Avanza Grades

The wider Avanza range has included grades such as E and G, with different engine, transmission and equipment combinations depending on the country.

The 1.5L versions generally provide stronger performance than the smaller-engine versions, while higher grades add convenience and safety equipment.

Overall Opinion

The Avanza E is an honest seven-seat MPV.

It does not have the strongest engine, the most luxurious cabin or the longest list of electronic safety systems.

Instead, it gives you the things that matter every day: seven seats, 180 mm ground clearance, a smooth CVT, practical dimensions, reasonable fuel economy and straightforward Toyota ownership.

For Bangladesh, those priorities make sense.

If your daily routine involves family transportation, Dhaka traffic, school runs and occasional highway trips, the Avanza E provides a sensible package.

If you regularly drive fully loaded and want effortless highway acceleration, the 1.5L engine may feel modest.

But if your priority is dependable, practical seven-seat transportation, the Avanza E understands the assignment.
