For older 2008–2012 cars, mechanical condition is particularly important.

Strong alternatives include Mazda 3 and Honda CR-V. Compare their price, equipment, safety and driving character directly.

The main weaknesses are 160mm ground clearance, modest 1.5L performance and aging infotainment technology. The Allion remains comfortable, but its cabin technology is noticeably older than newer Toyota sedans.

The A15 is economical and dependable, but overtaking fully loaded vehicles on highways requires more planning than with the A18 or A20.
