Safety is one of the biggest improvements in the fourth-generation Toyota Voxy. Earlier Voxy models already had respectable safety equipment, but the latest generation brings Toyota's much more sophisticated Toyota Safety Sense package into the picture.
The system includes pre-collision safety, lane departure alert, lane tracing assistance, radar cruise control, adaptive high-beam technology and road-sign assistance. Depending on grade and equipment, additional systems include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic assistance, parking support braking and panoramic-view monitoring.
That matters in Bangladesh because driving here is rarely a calm mathematical exercise. Motorcycles appear from improbable angles, pedestrians cross roads with remarkable confidence and traffic lanes are sometimes treated as philosophical suggestions. Driver assistance cannot replace concentration, but systems that warn you about a vehicle, pedestrian or lane departure can provide a useful extra layer of protection.
The Voxy also has ABS, Brake Assist, EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, multiple airbags and ISOFIX child-seat mounting.
The panoramic-view camera is especially useful because the Voxy is a large vehicle. Parking a nearly 4.7-metre MPV in a crowded Dhaka shopping centre is considerably easier when cameras show you what is hiding around the vehicle.
The important point is that safety equipment varies by grade and option. A 2022 S-G should not automatically be assumed to have every feature found on a 2026 S-Z.
Overall, the fourth-generation Voxy represents a substantial safety improvement over its predecessors.
