Exterior

Big, Broad and Completely Uninterested in Being Sensible

The Toyota Tundra Hybrid is not a pickup that quietly parks in the corner. It arrives with the visual subtlety of a small building. The enormous grille, wide body, muscular wheel arches and tall bonnet give the latest Tundra a properly American full-size pickup appearance, despite being a Toyota.

The CrewMax 5.5-foot-bed configuration is approximately 5.93 metres long and 2.04 metres wide, making it enormous by Bangladesh standards. On an open highway this gives the Tundra tremendous presence. In a Dhaka lane designed for a CNG auto-rickshaw, however, it becomes an exercise in geometry.

The hybrid version retains the same basic exterior architecture as the conventional Tundra, with trim-specific wheels, lighting and grille treatments separating Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro and Capstone versions.

The cargo bed is one of the genuinely clever parts. Toyota uses an aluminium-reinforced composite construction designed to resist dents, impacts and rust, while the available bed lengths provide considerable flexibility. Toyota lists 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot and 8.1-foot bed configurations across the Tundra range.

Ground clearance is approximately 216mm for the hybrid configuration, giving it useful ability on broken Bangladesh roads. Four-wheel-drive versions and off-road packages increase its capability further.

The exterior's biggest issue here is not styling. It is scale. You will need to think about parking, turning space and road width before you think about the paint colour.

Interior

The Pickup That Decided It Wanted a Luxury Suite

Inside, the Toyota Tundra Hybrid is almost comically different from the stripped-down work trucks of the past. The cabin is wide, comfortable and technologically sophisticated, particularly in Platinum, 1794 Edition and Capstone versions. CrewMax models provide generous rear-seat legroom, making the Tundra genuinely comfortable for five adults. The rear bench also folds, providing useful enclosed storage for equipment that you would rather not leave exposed in the cargo bed. The dashboard combines physical controls with large digital displays. The central infotainment system can use a 14-inch touchscreen, while higher trims receive a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, and premium versions can add a 12-speaker JBL system. The hybrid system also does not turn the cabin into some science experiment. You start it, select Drive and the truck behaves like a normal automatic vehicle. The electric motor simply supplies additional torque when needed. Higher trims bring heated and ventilated seats, premium leather-trimmed upholstery, panoramic roof availability, power adjustment and substantially more luxury equipment. For Bangladesh, the cabin's biggest advantage is long-distance comfort. The Tundra is particularly well suited to highway journeys where its wide seats, quiet cruising character and enormous interior have room to breathe. The drawback is obvious: this much luxury costs money. A fully equipped Tundra Hybrid is no longer merely a pickup truck. It is a luxury vehicle wearing work boots.

Features

Technology With Actual Purpose

The Tundra Hybrid's feature list is long, but several items genuinely matter in everyday Bangladesh use. The 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen is one of the most visible upgrades, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide straightforward smartphone integration. Higher trims add JBL premium audio, digital instrumentation, wireless charging, heated and ventilated seating and panoramic-view camera technology. The most useful technology may actually be the cameras and sensors. A vehicle this large has substantial blind spots, so available Panoramic View Monitor, Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are more than showroom decoration. Toyota also gives the Tundra a serious collection of connected features. Remote Connect can support functions such as remote locking, vehicle status and remote climate operation where the relevant service is available. Connected-service availability can vary by market, which is particularly important for a Bangladesh-imported American-market vehicle. The i-FORCE MAX hybrid system is itself the headline technology. Toyota combines the twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor-generator positioned within the transmission system. The motor adds substantial torque and allows the engine to shut down, restart and receive electric assistance as required. For Bangladesh, the practical feature combination is therefore strong: big touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, cameras, parking assistance, safety systems, power seats and enormous cargo capability. What it does not offer is small-car practicality. Technology can help you park a Tundra, but it cannot make the Tundra physically smaller.

Safety

Eight Airbags and a Very Large Safety Envelope

The Toyota Tundra Hybrid comes with a substantial active and passive safety package. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beams and Road Sign Assist.

The truck also provides eight airbags, including driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, knee airbags and curtain airbags. Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are available on the hybrid range, with higher trims adding more sophisticated camera coverage.

This is especially useful in Bangladesh because the Tundra's enormous dimensions create visibility challenges of their own. A motorcycle disappearing beside the rear quarter panel is much harder to see from a truck this large than from a small sedan.

The available Panoramic View Monitor is therefore particularly valuable during parking and tight manoeuvres. It can give you a much better understanding of where the truck's corners actually are.

The physical structure is equally important. Toyota uses a fully boxed high-strength steel ladder frame with ultra-high-strength steel cabin construction, while aluminium is used for selected body panels.

However, electronic safety systems do not make the truck invincible. Its mass, height and size still require careful driving. In crowded Bangladesh traffic, maintaining safe distances and using the cameras and mirrors properly is more important than relying on automatic systems.

Overall, the Tundra Hybrid offers a comprehensive modern safety package, but its sheer size remains something the driver must manage.

Driving Experience

437 Horsepower Makes Traffic Look Slightly Silly

The Tundra Hybrid's 437 horsepower and 790 Nm make it an exceptionally powerful pickup. The electric motor contributes enormous torque low in the rev range, while the twin-turbo V6 supplies sustained power when the truck is accelerating hard or towing.

The 10-speed automatic transmission is remarkably well matched to the powertrain. It can keep the engine relaxed during highway cruising and select lower ratios when acceleration, towing or climbing requires more effort.

The hybrid system's greatest advantage is not that the Tundra suddenly becomes a Prius. It does not. The advantage is that the electric motor gives the heavy truck instant torque and allows Toyota to improve fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance.

For Bangladesh, realistic fuel consumption is around 6–8 km/L in city traffic, 9–11 km/L on highways and 7–9 km/L combined. Dhaka congestion can push the figure lower.

On a highway, the Tundra feels much more natural. There is enormous power available for overtaking, the cabin is comfortable and the suspension provides a surprisingly composed ride.

Then you reach a narrow Dhaka road and discover the catch.

At nearly six metres long and over two metres wide, the Tundra requires planning. Parking spaces that comfortably accept a Corolla suddenly look like children's furniture.

But if you need towing, cargo capacity, off-road ability and serious power, the driving experience is genuinely impressive.

Variants

Five Hybrid Personalities

The 2026 Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX Hybrid is offered across several premium and off-road-oriented configurations, including Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro and Capstone. Toyota's current range gives each version a noticeably different purpose.

The Limited i-FORCE MAX provides the main balance between luxury and capability, with a 14-inch multimedia display, 20-inch wheels, leather-trimmed seating and heated/ventilated front seats.

The Platinum i-FORCE MAX moves further into luxury with premium lighting, panoramic-view monitoring, upgraded interior equipment and a more sophisticated cabin.

The 1794 Edition adds a distinctive luxury-western theme with premium trim and unique exterior details.

The TRD Pro is the specialist. It is designed for serious off-road use and adds dedicated suspension, all-terrain equipment and off-road styling.

At the top is the Capstone, which turns the Tundra into a luxury pickup with premium materials and extensive equipment.

For Bangladesh, the right configuration depends heavily on how you intend to use it. A Limited 4WD can make sense for someone who wants a powerful luxury pickup, while TRD Pro is more relevant if rough terrain is a genuine part of everyday driving.

The important thing is that every version remains a very large pickup. The hybrid powertrain makes it faster and more efficient than you might expect, but it does not make the Tundra small.
