The Right Equipment, But Not Modern Luxury
The Prius Alpha was designed around efficiency and practicality rather than technological extravagance. That philosophy is obvious when you examine its equipment.
The S Touring Selection provides useful everyday features such as automatic climate control, power windows, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering, smart/keyless entry, push-button start, split-folding rear seating and 17-inch alloy wheels. Toyota also fitted UV-cut and privacy glass, which is particularly useful in Bangladesh's strong sunlight.
The hybrid system itself is arguably the Alpha's most important technology. The 1.8-litre Atkinson-cycle engine works with Toyota's electric hybrid system and e-CVT, allowing the vehicle to move through city traffic smoothly and efficiently.
However, buyers should be careful when looking at imported cars. Bangladesh-market Prius Alphas frequently arrive with aftermarket touchscreen displays, reverse cameras, TV navigation, Bluetooth systems and upgraded leather interiors. Those additions can make a particular car look much newer than its original factory specification.
Modern Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging and sophisticated connected-car services are not native strengths of this generation.
So the Alpha's features are best described as
practical rather than cutting-edge. It gives you the things you need for daily driving, while leaving the latest smartphone and digital technology to newer vehicles or aftermarket equipment.
