Question 1

What is the Toyota Fielder (2000-2006) price in Bangladesh?

Accepted Answer

Current price for a Toyota Fielder 2000–2006 is around Tk 9.5 lakh–Tk 14 lakh.

Question 2

Is Toyota Fielder 2000–2006 a good car to buy in Bangladesh?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you find a mechanically healthy example.

The biggest attraction is simple: Toyota reliability plus wagon practicality at a relatively affordable Bangladesh used-car price. The 1.5L 1NZ-FE is well known for durability and relatively inexpensive maintenance.

However, remember that even the newest cars in this range are now around two decades old. Condition is therefore far more important than simply choosing a particular model year.

Question 3

What are the Toyota Fielder 2000–2006 performance figures?

Accepted Answer

The common 1.5L 1NZ-FE produces approximately 105–110 hp and 138–143 Nm, depending on year and specification.

A realistic 0–100 km/h time is around 10.5–11.5 seconds. It is adequate for normal city driving and highway cruising but is not a performance-oriented engine.

The 1.8L versions are considerably stronger, while the Z Aero Tourer with the 2ZZ-GE is a completely different proposition, producing approximately 190 hp and 180 Nm.

Question 4

How much mileage does Toyota Fielder 2000–2006 give in Bangladesh?

Accepted Answer

For a healthy 1.5L petrol Fielder, expect approximately:

City: 8–11 km/L
Highway: 13–16 km/L
Combined: 10–13 km/L

Dhaka traffic, AC usage, CNG conversion, engine condition, transmission health and driving style can change these numbers considerably.

A well-maintained car driven gently on open roads can exceed the combined figure, while a heavily used example in severe Dhaka congestion can fall below 9 km/L.

Question 5

Which Toyota Fielder grade is best?

Accepted Answer

The first-generation Fielder included grades such as X, X G Edition, S, S Limited and Z Aero Tourer, with different engines and equipment.

For normal Bangladesh family use, the 1.5L X or X G Edition is the sensible choice because the 1NZ-FE is economical and relatively easy to maintain.

The S/S Limited offers sportier equipment, while the Z Aero Tourer is the enthusiast choice because of its high-revving 2ZZ-GE engine.

For low running costs, choose 1.5L X/X G Edition. For performance, the Z Aero Tourer is vastly more interesting.

Question 6

Is Toyota Fielder good for family use?

Accepted Answer

Yes, particularly for a small family.

The five-seat layout is comfortable enough, while the wagon body provides considerably more luggage flexibility than a traditional sedan. The rear seats fold down, allowing the car to carry larger items when required.

For Bangladesh families travelling with luggage, shopping bags or children's equipment, the Fielder's long roof and large rear opening are genuinely useful.

It is not a seven-seater, so larger families should consider an MPV instead.

Question 7

Is Toyota Fielder good for city driving in Bangladesh?

Accepted Answer

The 1.5L Fielder is quite good for city driving.

Its relatively narrow 1,695mm body, light steering and approximately 4.9–5.2m turning radius make it easy to manoeuvre through Dhaka traffic. The naturally aspirated 1.5L engine is also simple and predictable.

The major issue is age. A 20-plus-year-old Fielder may have worn suspension, steering components, AC systems and transmission parts. A mechanically tired Fielder can feel much worse in city traffic than a properly maintained one.

Question 8

Is Toyota Fielder suitable for Bangladesh roads?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Toyota Fielder 1.5 X is suitable for normal Bangladesh roads, with its wagon body, FWD drivetrain and petrol power suited to everyday road use.

Question 9

Is Toyota Fielder petrol or octane, and what fuel should I use?

Accepted Answer

The common 2000–2006 Fielder 1.5L is a petrol engine using the 1NZ-FE.

Some Bangladesh owners refer to petrol as “octane,” while others use octane as a higher-octane fuel choice. The Japanese-market specification was designed for regular unleaded petrol.

The 2000–2006 range also included 1.8L petrol and 2.2L diesel versions in Japan.

For Bangladesh, the 1.5L petrol is generally the safest choice for simple ownership and reasonable fuel economy.

Question 10

What should I check before buying a reconditioned or used Toyota Fielder?

Accepted Answer

With a 2000–2006 Fielder, condition is everything.

Check the engine compression and oil consumption, automatic/CVT or manual transmission, suspension, steering, AC, cooling system, electrical equipment, brakes, underbody and accident history.

Inspect the chassis carefully for major accident repairs and check whether the mileage appears genuine. Also inspect for rust and flood damage.

For a car this old, spending money on a professional inspection before purchase is far more sensible than paying extra simply because the seller claims it is a “low-mileage” example.
