Exterior

The latest Corolla has finally stopped looking like the car your accountant would buy.

The E210 sedan is considerably sharper than the older Corolla generations, with a low nose, narrow headlights, broad grille and clean shoulder line. It still looks unmistakably like a Corolla, but there is now enough attitude to make it interesting.

At 4,495mm long and 1,745mm wide, it is larger and more planted than the old X Corolla. Yet it remains compact enough for Bangladesh city driving. The 2,640mm wheelbase gives the car a useful balance between cabin space and manoeuvrability. Toyota's current Japanese specification confirms those dimensions.

The W×B package is particularly attractive. Larger wheels, darker exterior details and sportier styling give it the appearance many Bangladesh buyers want from a premium Japanese sedan.

LED lighting is another major improvement. The modern Corolla looks particularly good at night, rather than resembling a 2004 taxi with new bulbs.

There is, however, one Bangladesh problem: ground clearance.

At around 130mm, this is a proper low sedan rather than a crossover pretending to be one. Bad speed breakers and steep basement ramps require care.

But visually, Toyota has finally got the proportions right.

It looks expensive without shouting about it.

And that is exactly how a Corolla should look.

For more visual detail, open the detailed image gallery. The full specifications and features gives the key dimensions and exterior equipment in one place. The Toyota Corolla default stands out through the combination of its proportions, lighting and wheel package, which matter when choosing a car you will see every day.

Interior

latest Corolla's cabin is a completely different planet from the old New Shape.

Instead of a sea of grey plastic and a CD player that has forgotten what century it is, you get a modern dashboard, digital information displays, smartphone connectivity and considerably better materials.

The driving position is particularly good. Steering adjustment is more comprehensive, the controls fall naturally to hand and the overall layout feels designed around the driver rather than a committee.

Higher specifications can bring synthetic-leather upholstery, heated seats, upgraded displays, better audio and additional convenience equipment.

The technology is also finally competitive. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports and modern navigation/connected services make the car much easier to live with every day.

Rear space is the less impressive part. The Corolla is perfectly usable for four adults and acceptable for five, but it does not have the cavernous rear cabin of some larger Japanese sedans.

For Bangladesh family use, that distinction matters.

The front seats are where the car feels most impressive. Long drives are substantially less tiring than in older Corollas, while the hybrid powertrain keeps urban driving quiet.

The biggest complaint is not quality—it is storage. Some rivals provide more clever places for phones, bottles and miscellaneous family junk.

Still, compared with the E120, the latest Corolla feels like someone has fast-forwarded twenty years.

Because they did.

Features

This is where the latest Corolla makes its predecessors look almost prehistoric.

The modern car can combine Toyota Safety Sense, adaptive cruise control, lane assistance, pre-collision braking, traffic-sign recognition, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, digital displays, LED lighting, push-button starting, smart entry and advanced parking technology, depending on grade. Toyota's current Japanese lineup makes Toyota Safety Sense standard across the Corolla family.

The W×B is particularly attractive for Bangladesh because it packages the Corolla's desirable equipment with a sportier appearance.

The hybrid system is itself one of the car's best features. There is no need to plug it in. The battery charges automatically through regenerative braking and the petrol engine.

That makes it considerably easier to live with than a full EV for buyers who regularly travel outside Dhaka.

The technology does have one important Bangladesh caveat.

A Japanese-market Corolla may contain connected services that simply do not operate in Bangladesh. Toyota's own documentation shows connected features, but those services can depend on regional network and subscription availability.

So CarHub should distinguish between hardware installed in the vehicle and services actually usable in Bangladesh.

The same applies to navigation and certain driver-assistance functions.

Fortunately, the important features—hybrid efficiency, safety systems, smartphone connectivity, cameras and normal vehicle controls—remain highly useful.

This is finally a Corolla that feels properly modern rather than merely reliable.

Safety

Safety & Driver Assistance

This is perhaps the biggest reason to choose the latest Corolla over an older one.

The previous generations were reliable. This one is also intelligent.

Toyota Safety Sense brings forward-collision detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure assistance, lane-keeping support, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition and other preventive safety functions depending on specification. Toyota specifically describes expanded pre-collision functions including detection of cyclists and pedestrians at night.

There is also a much stronger passive-safety foundation, with multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, stability control, traction control and ISOFIX support.

For Bangladesh, these systems matter.

A Dhaka driver deals with motorcycles appearing from nowhere, pedestrians crossing unexpectedly, CNGs stopping abruptly and traffic behaving as though road markings are merely decorative suggestions.

A good ADAS system cannot fix that madness, but it can provide another layer of protection.

The buyer should still verify the actual specification. Japanese-market grades differ, and imported cars may have different equipment packages.

ADAS calibration is particularly important after accident repairs. A car with a misaligned radar or camera can have safety features that do not perform as intended.

So inspect the warning lights, sensors, radar area, windshield and camera systems carefully.

Compared with a 2005 Corolla, this is not merely a newer car.

It is a fundamentally safer concept of transportation.

For the complete equipment breakdown, see the full safety review and the full specifications and features. The full features review puts the safety kit alongside the rest of the vehicle's technology, while the driving experience review explains how the car behaves on the road. You can also browse the detailed image gallery, owner reviews, and all variants. These details give the Toyota Corolla default a clearer safety picture for everyday use.

Driving Experience

The latest Corolla is one of those cars that makes speed feel almost irrelevant.

The 1.8L hybrid produces around 140 PS system output, and the electric motor provides immediate response when pulling away. Toyota's current hybrid system uses an e-CVT, so there are no conventional gear changes interrupting acceleration.

In Dhaka, this is brilliant.

The car can creep through traffic quietly, recover energy while braking and use electric assistance whenever conditions allow. Instead of constantly revving the engine every time traffic moves two metres, the hybrid system simply gets on with it.

The official Japanese fuel-economy figure can exceed 30 km/L, but expecting that in Bangladesh would be optimistic. Real-world Dhaka traffic, AC use and road conditions make 18–22 km/L a more sensible city expectation.

On highways, the Corolla remains quiet and stable. Around 21–25 km/L is realistic for a healthy hybrid driven sensibly.

There is one obvious problem.

Ground clearance.

At around 130mm, it is not a car you should attack Bangladesh's speed breakers with enthusiasm.

The ride itself is well controlled, the steering is predictable and the chassis feels considerably more sophisticated than older Corollas.

It is not a sports sedan.

But it does not need to be.

The latest Corolla's real talent is making everyday driving feel effortless.

And after an hour in Dhaka traffic, effortless is rather wonderful.

EXPLORE THE RANGE

Variants

The current Japanese Corolla sedan lineup is broader than the Bangladesh market initially suggests.

Toyota currently offers Hybrid X, Hybrid G and Hybrid WxB, with E-Four AWD available on the hybrid versions. The current 2026 Japanese range lists these three hybrid grades, with the Hybrid G and X positioned below the WxB in equipment and price.

There have also been petrol 1.5L versions in recent model years, including X, G and WxB grades. Toyota's 2024–2025 catalogue shows both the 1.5L petrol and 1.8L hybrid lineups.

For Bangladesh reconditioned buyers, however, the 1.8L Hybrid is the configuration I would prioritise.

The Hybrid X makes sense for buyers who want the Corolla's efficiency at the lowest entry price.

The Hybrid G is the sensible all-rounder, balancing equipment and cost.

The WxB is the one I would personally choose if budget allows. It gives the car a more premium appearance and generally comes with a richer equipment package.

E-Four AWD is useful in markets where traction matters, but for normal Bangladesh urban driving, FWD is simpler and sufficient.

Overall, the latest Corolla is a very strong evolution of the nameplate.

It is no longer merely the safe answer.

It is actually a very good answer.
