Toyota has packed the Corolla Cross with the sort of technology that is actually useful rather than merely impressive in a showroom.
The hybrid drivetrain is obviously the star. It provides smooth low-speed operation, excellent efficiency and quiet electric assistance in traffic. Then there is Toyota Safety Sense, which adds pre-collision braking, lane assistance, radar cruise control, road-sign recognition and high-beam assistance.
Higher grades become substantially more interesting. Z and GR Sport receive Advanced Park, while S can have it as an option. Panoramic-view monitoring is similarly standard higher up and optional on S.
For Bangladesh, the practical features matter more than the brochure's impressive vocabulary. Rear AC, parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, LED lighting, smart entry and a reversing camera make daily life easier.
The JDM connected services are the caveat. Live location, remote functions, emergency services and some online functions may rely on Japanese T-Connect infrastructure. They should therefore not be treated as universally functional after import.
If I were buying one in Bangladesh, I would prioritise the hybrid system, safety equipment, parking cameras and physical comfort features before worrying about connected gimmicks.
